Hi Demtrios,

I really enjoyed your video. I am the ASQ Ireland Councillor and I have passed the link to our fellow members in Ireland along with weekly ASQ Friday Fast Facts. Well done.

It would be great to link to you on Linked In if that were possible. As you can see from my profile I am a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt too, underemployed at present but .... Anyway well done again on the video. As far as the sentiments and content are concerned I am believer already it was great to hear the reinforcement. Sometimes one needs the reassurance when one is without a job that what one has been teaching is correct.

Regards,

Ciaran May

MOST EXCELLENT thesis and presentation!  I agree with everything you said.  However the big problem (to me) isn't providing the leadership to embed a new culture.  The problem was stated by Sun Tao in the Art of War - The Leaders (in this case the CEO and Board of Directors) must allow the generals (the Leadership Managers) to fight the war as they see fit.

All to often a visionary is given a time constrained free reign or complete freedom without financial backing.  Either of these two scenarios are a sure fire road to failure.  The guys on the top are usually convinced that the way they did it before works and there's little to be had from changing.  While they may sing a good song, they don't believe it.

Visionary Leadership will always encounter pitfalls and stalls.  Upper upper management see this as failure and not a bump in the road. When you are too worried about the bonus you expect every quarter, you have little patience to see the rewards a year from now.

Find a way to conquer that mentality besides letting the old guard die off and you'll have something.

Your talk was well presented, personable, well organized and absolutely on point.  Give it to AMA and you'll be on the right track.

Regards

Bill Tobin

Subject: “Are you a Quality Manager, or a Leader?”, or to paraphrase the title, if you are manager, you should be fired!

Hi Demetrios,

Excellent presentation! It certainly brought up some areas where I need to improve. The examples were relevant and helped to make the points clearer.

Excellent!
